These are additional sessions that we can join whenever we have time, and they have truly made a big difference in improving my English. I’m especially grateful to Ammia and Katie for the one-on-one support and valuable advice they gave me during the Study Hub. They were always very patient and encouraging. Joining these extra lessons was the best decisions I made during my time here.

Fantastic experience: I studied at Hawthorn-Melbourne for seven months, and it was an amazing experience! The teachers are highly skilled, and the friendly atmosphere makes you feel welcome from day one. Their teaching method is very effective, using Macmillan books (both physical and online) and offering extra resources through Moodle. The one-on-one sessions with teachers were especially helpful—I improved my skills and achieved a 6.5 in my IELTS Speaking test, even while studying General English. The school provides comfortable study spaces and a useful Study Hub. They also organize free extracurricular activities, allowing students to explore Melbourne while practicing English in real-life situations. I truly appreciate the support and quality education I received. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I studied English for 1 year. They have incredibly understanding and caring student services but most importantly they have wonderful teachers, especially my teacher Susie. We were only together for 10 weeks with Susie but it was the best experience of my life. I think there is no one better than her in academic English. I am sure that everything she taught us will shed light on our path in our university life.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Hawthorn English was awesome. I learnt a lot. I had the opportunity to have the best English teacher, teacher Thuy. She challenged us and was always available to answer all our questions. The structure of the school is fantastic, I'm in love with the library and I could read many books, they have books for different levels, great for developing English. The school also has support for students who don't have a laptop, they can use computers, which helps a lot. And a plus, not least, the space is cosy and new, it makes you want to stay there. There's a games room, a multimedia room, a kitchen with equipment and snack machines. I loved my experience. Thank you Hawthorn English, thank you Teacher Thuy, you are amazing <3

Fantastic experience: This is the best school I have ever attended. The teachers are kind and warm-hearted, always patient. Teacher Andrew answered all my questions even during holidays and weekends. Teacher Thuy not only taught me about learning the English language but also offered me valuable advice for my daily life as I was new to Melbourne. I really love Hawthorn. I graduated from it and have my university life; I learned a lot there. The notes I made about essay writing structures are still useful in university. I can say it was the darkest time in my life, but Hawthorn rescued me. The teachers always encouraged me, supported me, and told me I am doing well; they are proud of me. I am immensely grateful to Hawthorn and appreciate everything this school has done for me. I will always cherish my time here.

The teachers here attach great importance to the child's situation and we have good communication. The child has been encouraged and understood at the school. I am very grateful to Mr. Chris and Pamela. Their understanding and support of the child has enabled him to make great progress and changes during his studies in this school. You just tell them your problem and they will do their best to help you, they are the best teachers I have ever met.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at this English language center. From the moment I arrived to the my last day of the school. My first course was focused on Business English, where I acquired skills in writing emails, problem-solving, and a plethora of business and finance-related vocabulary. The classes were engaging, with a diverse mix of students from various nationalities and backgrounds. Our teacher who also had a business background, enriched the lessons with relevant examples, making them even more captivating. Following that, I enrolled in the IELTS classes. Initially, my writing skills were lacking, and I felt somewhat insecure about my speaking abilities. However, the supportive atmosphere in the class, filled with highly motivated individuals striving to achieve their goals, inspired me to study harder. Recognizing one of my friend`s and my low writing proficiency, the school arranged private lessons for us to improve our academic essay writing skills. Additionally, there were supplementary sessions on reading and listening, where our teacher Sam gave invaluable methodologies that proved immensely beneficial. The opportunity to learn from two different IELTS teachers (Magda and Suzie) each with their distinct teaching styles, was truly enriching. Finally, I achieved my goal 7.5 IETLS score. Overall, my experience at this language center was exceptional. The dedication of the staff, the quality of instruction, and the supportive learning environment significantly contributed to my language proficiency and confidence. I highly recommend this center to anyone seeking to enhance their English language skills.

Negative experience: Exploitative program that provides a sub-standard service. People need to STAY AWAY. Keep your money and go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Disgusting practices by the school staffs who are responsible for homestay. Not recommended, would give 0 if that’s an option.

Negative experience: Do not go here as a overseas student, the system will not care for you in the slightest even when your most basic necessity for living are not met, all the problems you experience will be postpone and walled off by “waitlists”, they will lie to you with issues regarding accommodation especially when it comes to home stay related problems, the leadership here will abuse their power and manipulate you for monetary gain

Negative experience: Came here after reading the post from RED. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FROM THE SCHOOL’s admin team who are essentially abusing and threatening a 16 year old girl. AVOID AT ALL COST, your tuition fees can be spent somewhere else where they treat the students with dignity and respect.

Negative experience: This is not the place to get knowledge they only care about your money and charging you as much as they can. Furthermore, there are no tools or good facilities and the building old and dilapidated. The teachers they hired were any old unemployed people who crossed their street and spoke English. Once I left them and joined a real English school (RMIT), my English has improved significantly. Therefore, I advise you to run away

No son amables, y durante la crisis de la pandemia por el COVID-19 lo que hicieron fue defender su negocio y no dar ayudas reales a los estudiantes. No devolvieron dinero, y dicen que un curso online tiene el mismo precio que un curso presencial. No pierdan su tiempo y dinero aquí. Si quieren ayuda, en este colegio no la van a encontrar. El trato es irrespetuoso y sus políticas van en contra de los derechos del estudiante. Ellos, Hawthorn, siempre quiere ganar y no perder ni un peso. La reputación corporativa de Hawthorn ha quedado en el piso cuando debieron mostrar humanidad con esta pandemia.

Fantastic experience: What I’ve learned at Hawthorn Melbourne is priceless for me. I completed both General and Academic English course. In General English class, teachers often find interesting and engaging ways to learn English. In Academy course, I learned all things I needed for success in Academic field. Most of teachers were so kind and helpful not only for study but also personal life, difficulties, welfare and wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: If you're like me and don't have a good grounding in English, I highly recommend the hawthorne English language center. I've improved a lot in just six weeks here. This gives me great confidence to continue my study. During the study period, I have got a really wonderful experience for Licia to take us to see the Australian open. finally, I am very grateful to my teachers for their great help.

Positive experience: Personally , I think that this school has some loyal teachers who try their best to support the students with different methods of education and they provide a constructive feedback. Also, this language centre adopt an enjoyable approach in its learning rather than memorization. In addition, I think that its library contains many benefical books and computer applications. However, there are some teachers who do not have enough teaching skills and teaching experience, and it seems that they use a comparative language among students which can be frustrated in some cases. That is why I sometime feel it is boring to attend a class .

Fantastic experience: مركز هوثورن لتعليم اللغة الإنجليزية يتبع لجامعة ملبورن العريقة، درست فيه لمدة 15 أسبوع. 10 أسابيع لدراسة اللغة في فصول (General) 5 أسابيع في فصول (IELTS preparation) وذلك ضمن برنامج معد مسبقًا لمعلمي (خبرات) المعهد قوي أكاديميًا وطريقة التدريس فيه فعّالة بشكل ملحوظ، ومعلمو المعهد متعاونون. لديهم مكتبة غنية بجميع مصادر التعلم. يوجد مصلّى خاص بالمسلمين. احترام لجميع الطلاب مهما كانت الجنسية أو الثقافة. يوجد مواقف سيارات داخلية مجانية لطلاب المعهد. المعهد مهتم بالأنشطة الترفيهية، حيث يقومون بعمل رحلات لكل فصل. يوجد صالة رياضية داخلية.

Fantastic experience: At first i thought it would be a waste of time to study English as i have some basic understanding of English. However the 20 weeks of studying English has increased all my skills in writing, speaking, listening and reading. Thank you so much to the hard working teachers who have helped me to achieve this level of English.

Negative experience: I have lost money on bad teaching and clear racism and no one helps you

Negative experience: Hawthorn English is simple meaning for wasting time. I can’t notice any development in my English level since I have arrived in this institution. The education methods are too poor, they just read and follow the books instructions without proper explanation , so why I came to study in your institution !!!! I can buy a book and read it at home !!! And when you speak up by these facts they always say you are an independent student, do it yourself!!!! Also, they underestimate their students and always depress them by words like ( you’r not able to, you can’t pass you’r English not that good ...etc). I think the problem is not from the teachers, however; I believed that the management team should be replaced. The only benefit is the Bridging program as it is a pathway for Melbourne uni. Otherwise, they are awful. At the end, they just seeking to gain more money u can feel it in all their actions.

Negative experience: If you want my advice don't study at Hawthorne. I studied with them for a year. It was a bad experience and I lost my time with them. When I moved to the Embassy Institute I found a wonderful education and develops all my skills.
