ILSC Sydney

Negative experience: My experience at ILSC Sydney has not been positive. Each session lasts only one month, which is not enough time to properly develop or learn the material. We receive a textbook, but many times we don’t even complete the activities or finish the book. Some teachers also do not seem fully prepared, and the explanations are often inconsistent. Different teachers explain things in different ways, and even the pronunciation is sometimes taught differently, which creates confusion instead of helping students learn. Another issue is that the school separates levels too strictly, yet students often remain stuck repeating the same content without real progress. I continue attending the classes because it is required by my student visa, but honestly I do not feel that I am improving my English as expected. Also, this is not a cheap school, so I expected a much higher level of teaching quality and organization.

There's a lot of stores and markets nearby, and it's pretty close to the train station. Being honest, one of my favorites class was coffee class, because I learned to prepare some coffee and improved my english while I was having this class.

I can’t explain exactly how they kind and how I was supposed by them. Secondly, school activities are so much fun. For example, they have a running club on Wednesday. This is really good. Even though I am a graduated student, I join it and I can keep meeting my friends. If you are unsure about which school to choose, you should go to ILSC Sydney !!

Fantastic experience: I've studied here for 2 weeks only, the good one is i'm back againg. I like so much this college, they have twice a week elective clases and that help to keep the routine differently. Running club excellent, however they could try to find another alternative route.

Negative experience: After years of teaching in different countries—at universities, language schools, and institutions—this was the first time I was treated as though I were an intruder trying to storm a castle. The secretary on duty, in my view, needs training in how to welcome and value visitors. It was disappointing that in an age of open communication, when managers are generally accessible to the public, she refused to let me speak with the hiring manager, provide a business card, or even share an email address. This interaction unfortunately spoke volumes about the values of this institution.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time at ILSC Sydney! Despite staying for a very short time, Cambridge course really helped with the preparation for CAE. Teachers were very helpful and gave a lot of tips and tricks on how to approach the exam. Staff was really nice and helpful with everything. Also, coffee at the level 6 and 7 was just great. I wish I had more time to spend there.

Negative experience: Had absolutely horrible experience with this place. Still didn't get a refund. Studied 3 days out of 9 week fully prepaid program. Quit it immediately and was advised of getting only 45% of the total paid amount as a refund . A month + later - Still waiting for a refund. This place is not safe or welcoming for youngsters. Stay away. They also seem to be removing all the negative reviews from this place as I placed one previously and it was wiped out. A very poor and unfair action to keep artificially high rating of the place.

There are a lot of activities as well and I recommend running club on every Wednesday at 18:00. Especially for over mid 20s, we have to start paying attention to our health :) Now, I have friends all over the world and I'm excited to visit them in their countries.

Negative experience: I applied and paid the 250 AUD fee, which was received by ILSC/Greystone College on June 10th. I submitted all required documents but still haven’t received any response. I’ve sent multiple enquiries through their portal but have not heard back. This lack of communication after payment is disappointing and concerning. I hope ILSC/Greystone College improves their applicant communication soon. I’m sharing this to help future students be aware.

The environment was pretty friendly and respectful. If you need something, you will have assistance and help quickly. I really recommend ILSC to everyone who wants to study English in Sydney.

I also want to emphasize the work of the reception, especially Leo, when I had any questions or issues to be resolved, he helped me immediately, always very polite and willing to resolve them. I also want to highlight the importance of having Leandro speaking Portuguese so that I can bring my suggestions. I visited other schools, but I didn't find anything like ILSC in terms of the teachers' knowledge and location, I hope they continue to do an excellent job and bring more students for me to make friends with.

Fantastic experience: My time at ILSC Sydney was one of the highlights of my experience in Australia. The quality of the teachers is very high and I could certify a C1 level just in a 6 months course. I met people from all around the world and I have very good friends from ILSC. I would like to mention the “Cafe Class” with Bert or Benni where they give you skills to work as a barista, it’s really enjoyable and helpful. The IELTS preparation class with Trish is something I’ll never forget, she teaches all the skills you need to get a successful score. This class is not only helpful to get a high score on IELTS, but also for improving your general English level. I had also the opportunity to join some online lessons with Leo. In the past, I didn’t like online lessons but I’ve learned with Leo that online classes don’t have to be boring. Leo teaches you English through really interesting topics about life and success, and you can notice that he loves teaching English, so you also enjoy it and time flies in his lessons. Leo is also at reception and he is always trying to help you with any doubt or issue you might have! I have just good words about this college. If you wanted to learn English in Sydney, I would strongly recommend this college. Thanks to all the staff that works here. They make you feel so comfortable even when you are thousands of kilometres away from your home! :)

Fantastic experience: ILSC was one of the best choices I made in Australia for studying both general and academic English. The school offers an excellent structure, including elective classes that promote linguistic development, and a unique highlight—the Café Work Skills class. My experience at ILSC was truly enriching, with opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as visits to museums, restaurants, parks, universities, and beaches. The faculty is outstanding, with experienced native British and Australian teachers, as well as instructors from other nationalities, providing a diverse learning environment. The student community is composed of around 80% Latinos, with a significant number of Brazilian students. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have studied at ILSC, and I highly appreciate everything I learned during my time there. Thank you!

Well organized classes, skillful and friendly teachers and lots of fun activities that leads students to relax getting out of their comfort zones and making new friends!
